Accident shuts down portion of I-80 near Grove City

A semi accident caused a chain reaction crash on I-80 in Grove City, Pa.

GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) – An accident on Intestate 80 in Mercer County late Friday afternoon caused a chain reaction that involved several vehicles.

The accident involved a tractor trailer and other vehicles in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near the Grove City exit.

The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. near mile market 24.

The westbound lanes were closed for about an hour and the eastbound lanes remained closed for about three hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

It is not clear if there were any injuries or how many vehicles were involved.
