BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Hardware and grocery stores were busy Friday afternoon in Boardman ahead of the anticipation of the winter storm that is predicated for this weekend. Customers were busy buying shovels, rock salt, and cold weather accessories.
Home Depot Assistant Manager Tana Cross said the store is already out of calcium chloride and rock salt is moving fast.
“You need it for your driveways, although it is not as effective because of the temperature, but we will see it go,” Cross said.
Rulli Brothers was also busy with extra customers. Michael Rulli said the rush was expected in advance of the storm.
“When they call for a major snowstorm, like they are calling for now, people automatically hit the panic button. You are going to see a major influx on your staples such as water, bread, milk and eggs,” said owner Michael Rulli.
