EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) — East Palestine battled a fire and the cold on Sunday morning.

A West Clark Street home was on fire.

Fire Chief Joshua Brown said the call came in around 10 a.m. for an electrical fire in the basement that spread to the crawl space.

Brown said his crews put it out quickly, and there was minimal damage to the house.

The residents got out safely.

The chief said some of their equipment started to freeze, but it didn’t affect their work.

Crews cleared the scene about 12:30.
