House damaged in Vernon Twp. fire

VERNON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Several fire departments were busy Tuesday with a house fire in Vernon Township.

The fire started around 7 p.m. at a home on Orangeville Kinsman Road. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already spread through the roof.

The couple living there managed to get out safely, but they were uninsured and refused help from the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The damage estimate is set at about $50,000.

This is the second house fire in Vernon Township in less than a month.
