Snow welcome sight for Chili Cookoff

The snow did not stop participants at the Chili Cookoff in Poland, Ohio.

POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Several inches of snow weren’t enough to stop some people from heading to the golf course Saturday.

Golfers gathered for the Poland Rotary’s 30th annual Chili Open Golf Classic. They could play a full 18 holes at Bedford Trails Golf Course, or just take some swings in a closest-to-the-pin contest.

“It is a great time. Nowhere else in Ohio can you go golfing in February,” said Bob Gratz, Chili Open participant.

People at the Chili Open also enjoyed music from Chub Scouts and a chili eating contest.

The money raised benefits more than a dozen charities supported by the Rotary Club of Poland.
