Weather causes slick roads

BOARDMAN (WKBN) – Snow that fell throughout the morning across the area has made for slippery roads.

Various law enforcement agencies have been criss-crossing the region throughout the day for vehicles that slid off the roadway or accidents.

Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Pennsylvania State Police have reported only minor accidents.

Multiple communities have put parking bans in places, allowing street departments to stay ahead of the weather.

Niles is among the many departments that have been out all day.

Sam Mollica, city street superintendent, tells WKBN that he’s had crews plowing and treating city roads since 3 a.m. today, and plans to send them back out from 4 p.m. today until 4 a.m. Sunday.

This is a developing story. Check back with and tune in at 6 and 11 p.m. for the latest information on the weather.
