WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Professionals and amateurs put their skills to the test on Sunday to see who makes the best food and drink in the Valley.
It’s called Blessed Sacrament Church’s annual Pasta Cook-Off and Wine Tasting. Now in its 13th year, restaurants, professional chefs and amateur wine makers bring their best dishes and drinks to be judge by area notables.
More than bragging rights were at stake though; all the money raised goes to the American Heart Association’s annual Heart Walk.
“It’s a huge support for us every year, consistently from the church and it goes to our annual Heart Walk that we host at Youngstown State University at the Watts Center,” said Chris Pacileo of the American Heart Association.
Among the judges was WYTV anchor Stan Boney.
The cook-off traditionally raises about $5,000 and this year’s event was on track to do the same.
Guests voted for their favorites by donating money and whoever raised the most was named the winner.
