Tough facts to swallow for YSU Hoops

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Following Youngstown State’s 78-74 victory over Northern Kentucky on New Year’s Eve, the Penguins held a 9-6 record as they gazed ahead to the Horizon League slate. However, since the calendar turned, YSU has fallen in 13 of their last 15 contests.

When the Penguins (11-19, 2-13) host Milwaukee this Saturday (Feb. 28 at 7 pm), the game will be the regular season finale and a chance to garner coach Jerry Slocum’s 700th win.

Fond memories of past Senior Days are hard to come by as they’ve posted a 1-9 mark against Horizon League opponents in their final regular season game at the Beeghly Center.
