BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Water department crews are out Friday morning working to repair water line breaks in at least three separate locations.
A water line broke on McClurg Road in Boardman causing standing water to freeze on the road in the area.
The water line has been repaired but motorists are being cautioned to be careful because of the icy conditions. A police officer has been stationed in the area to make sure traffic slows down.
Crews are also working on a break on Youngstown’s west side and on Brandon Ave. in in Struthers.
The breaks occur when there is a drastic temperature changes between the water pipe and the ground, which puts pressure on the pipe.
Some residents in Sebring are advised to boil their water until further notice after a water main break Thursday night on South Johnson Road.
Residents living in Sebring, Beloit and the Maple Ridge area need to boil their water for drinking.
