BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Dietary Guidelines Committee of the FDA has released new dietary guidelines.
The three main recommendations are to cut down on salt, sugar and saturated fat, most of which comes from fast food and restaurant dining. The dietary guidelines recommend increasing fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains and seafood.
Dr. Shayesteh said the best way to implement the 2015 dietary guidelines is to follow the Mediterranean Diet.
