SHARON, PA (WKBN) – The suspect wanted in a weekend homicide in Sharon appeared in court Tuesday morning.
The U.S. Marshals arrested Michael Bagnall Monday evening in Pittsburgh following a two-day manhunt, according to Sharon Police. On Tuesday, Bagnall officially received the charge of criminal homicide, having his bond set at $500,000.
Bagnall’s next court appearance is set for March 13 in Mercer County District Court in Sharon.
Police believe Bagnall shot 23-year-old Jaylen “Bubby” West, of Farrell.
Police say Bagnall was celebrating his birthday with friends when he pulled a gun during a disagreement and shot West about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Quinby Street.
Sharon police Chief Gerald Smith said an “eyewitness account” of the shooting enabled police to get an arrest warrant for Bagnall. The chief said U.S. marshals joined the search because police believed Bagnall may have fled to Youngstown or Warren.
Smith said Bagnall and West were not related, but they did know each other.
