Cafaro donates to new Howland stadium

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) –  The new Howland community stadium received a big gift on Thursday.

Anthony Cafaro Sr. stepped out of retirement to present a check for $100,000 towards the project. The money is slated for the first phase of the work, which includes replacing the grass field with turf.

“This gift from the Cafaro Foundation towards the project is a small token of our continuing involvement in, and investment in, and appreciation for, and commitment to Trumbull County,” Cafaro said.

He presented the check at the Eastwood Mall complex with students, township officials and school leaders in attendance.
