YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Thursday, prosecutors announced an indictment against a Youngstown man, charging that he accidentally shot a 9-year-old girl in April 2014.
Devante Scott, 20, is charged with improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, as well as felonious assault.
Kathryn Carter, 9, was hit by a stray bullet while coloring in the dining room of her home on East Judson Avenue in Youngstown last April. Her mother was in the kitchen and her father was watching television.
A stray bullet came through a window and hit her in the back and exited through her chest.
