BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Authorities arraigned a Poland man Wednesday after police found drugs in his office in Boardman in December, according to police and court records.
Chris Berardino, 34, is charged with two counts of possession of drugs and one count of possession of cocaine.
According to a police report, Boardman Police officers raided Berardino’s office at The Steelyard, a Boardman liquor store, on Dec. 9, 2014, after getting a search warrant for the location. Among the items which police allege they found were:
- Hash oil in a container by Berardino’s office
- A syringe with clear liquid in Berardino’s shirt pocket
- A multi-color marijuana pipe in the center console of a car on the premises
- Two jars with a strong odor of marijuana
Police also listed possession of cocaine and ecstasy as charges on the police report, although the narrative portion of the report does not specifically mention either of those items being found. According to the report, Berardino initially told an officer he had a prescription for testosterone which they found but later said he did not.
Berardino said that he used to buy marijuana for himself and some friends, according to the report.
Police said at the time of the arrest that charges would be filed later. A grand jury indicted Berardino Feb. 19, and authorities arraigned Berardino Wednesday, March 3.
Berardino is scheduled to have a pre-trial hearing Wednesday, March 10.
A call placed to the number listed for Berardino on the report went unanswered.
