GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – As the weather gets warmer, the pothole problem in the Valley may only get worse.
Cars bounce through the potholes on Lisbon Road in Green Township. Or they will cross the double-yellow line. It seems to be the only way to avoid the holes.
“It is horrible. It has been this way for three years and we have called. All the people who live here and travel this road have called. And we just don’t get any response,” Marvin Kelly of Greenford Tractor Sales said.
And they are not alone. Our crews went out to pothole-covered roads in Boardman, like South Avenue and Southern Boulevard.
Or in Warren, where cars bounced along East Market Street. All were identified as problem roads by our viewers.
Viewer Facebook comments and emails led our crew to roads with some of the worst potholes in the Valley, including many in Austintown, like the stretch of Burkey Road near Austintown Middle School.
“We just blew the tire out and had to buy a new tire,” Austintown resident Mike Swiger said. “On Meridian Road.”
Swiger said he spent $360 to replace his left front tire, and he doesn’t see the roads in Austintown getting better.
“You’ve got all kinds of big potholes out there. You would knock a tire off a semi truck, they are so big,” he said.
