YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — 50 years ago, Heritage Manor opened its doors.
To mark the occasion, the assisted-living facility threw a party on Sunday for its clients and staff.
It opened in 1965 as a 43-bed skilled nursing facility and continued to grow with the senior population.
Officials credit their success to a few simple things.
“A lot of it is just caring. You can’t take the individual out of it. If you take the individuals out of it, it’s just not the same,” said Robert Lev of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.
Operated in conjunction with the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, over the last half-century, Heritage Manor has cared for over 2,500 men and women.
