Pizza Cook-Off heats up the Valley

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Hundreds gathered at Mr. Anthony’s for the Mahoning Valley Pizza Cook-Off on Sunday.

Judges got a taste of different types of pizzas and decided several winners in various categories.

In addition to eating pizza, there are raffles, as well as live and silent auctions. All the proceeds will go to the Potential Development program for children with autism.

“Within the last year we’ve expanded to include the high school program. We go through grades nine through 12 now. So it helps for each of the classrooms and helps expand what we’re doing,” said Paul Garchar, Executive Director for Potential Development.

This is the sixth time they’ve held this event. Last year the event raised more than $50,000. They are hoping to raise even more this year.

WYTV personality, Jim Loboy, MC’ed the event.
