Former magazine publisher wants to be Warren mayor

Warren native Dennis Blank is running for city mayor

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Warren native Dennis Blank announced his candidacy for Warren mayor on Wednesday.

Blank is running as an independent. He has worked for Fortune magazine and also was the associate publisher of Money magazine.

He said a lot needs to be done for Warren.

“Warren has its full share of problems like any city has. Without competition in these municipal races, there really is not a dialogue about solving the problems,” Blank said. “I plan on doing it by giving people a voice. Because of the one-party rule here, participation in local government and related issues is very low.”

Blank has authored more than 500 blog posts on topics related to Warren’s future.

The current Warren mayor is Doug Franklin.
