Fatal vehicle fire closes Ohio Turnpike in Portage County

STREETSBORO, Ohio (AP) – Officials say one driver has died after a vehicle fire on the Ohio Turnpike.

The Ohio Turnpike Commission says a tractor-trailer caught fire on the turnpike near the Streetsboro exit in Portage County just after 3 a.m. Friday.

Authorities say the driver of the truck has died. His name wasn’t immediately released Friday morning.

The turnpike says eastbound traffic was being diverted to State Route 8.

Turnpike officials say no other vehicles were involved in the accident and no other injuries have been reported.
