Springfield’s run comes to an end

The Tigers fell, 45-34 to Canton Central Catholic Friday night in Division III District Finals.

Salem, OH (WKBN) – The Springfield boys basketball team fell, 45-34 to Canton Central Catholic Friday night in the Division III District Finals.

It was a low scoring first half, and the Tigers led 12-11 at halftime. But the Crusaders outscored Springfield, 23-12 in the third quarter to pull away with the win.

Jerry Leatherman led the way with 13 points for Canton Central Catholic, who captures their second straight District Championship.

Brandon Chamberlain had 12 points for Springfield, while Graham Mincher added 8. The Tigers finish the season with a 24-1 overall record, and ITCL Champions for the fourth straight year.
