Niles man indicted on child porn, voyeurism charges

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Niles man was arraigned Friday morning on 15 charges involving child pornography in Hubbard Township and other locations in Trumbull County.

Christopher Kavalesky was secretly indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury on six counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, five counts of  voyeurism, three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance and one count of tampering with evidence.

Prosecutors said Kavalesky secretly used hidden cell phones to record multiple minors in his home. According to the indictment, the alleged acts occurred between January of 2010 and February 2014.

According to the felony voyeurism charges Kavalesky faces, it states that he invaded the privacy of another to videotape, film, photograph or otherwise record or spy or eavesdrop upon the person in a state of nudity of a minor female who was 11 years old at the time.

Kavalesky is being held in the Trumbull County Jail on $100,000 bond.
