Ursuline falls in Regional Final

Ursuline fell again to state power VASJ in the Regional Final, ending the Irish's season.

CANTON, Ohio (WKBN)-The Ursuline Irish boys basketball team had their season end Saturday night at the hands of state power Villa Angela-St. Joe’s 66-45.

It was deja-vu for the Irish as this is back-to-back seasons they fell in the Regional Final to the Vikings.

The two teams went back and forth in the first half, trading baskets for the majority of the half but VASJ took a 32-23 lead into the break.

That’s when the Vikings flexed their muscles, going on a quick 14-0 run to open the 2nd half, and never looking back.

Brian Parker Jr. led all scorers with 21 points for VASJ, while Carlton Bragg had 14.

Senior Mark Hughes led Ursuline with 14 points in his final game with the Irish. David Collins also added 10 points, as Ursuline finishes the season with a 22-6 overall record.
