Chocolatier offers up sweet treats and tradition

Daffin's Chocolates offered a factory tour at its facility in Farrell, Pa.

FARRELL, Pa. (WKBN) – It is two weeks until Easter Sunday. For many, that means it is time to stock up on Easter chocolates.

Nearly 5,000 people toured the Daffin’s Chocolate Factory in Farrell Sunday. Manager Stan Lefes said people were lining up two hours before the factory opened.

Families watched chocolate bars roll down the assembly line, and they even enjoyed some free samples.

Daffin’s has invited the public to its open house for more than 40 years.

“It is amazing how far people come. A lot of them come back every year,” Lefes said. “I can remember some little kids they may have been six or seven and now I’m watching them and they are driving in.”

Daffin’s sells more chocolate during the Easter season than at any other time of year. Their store in Sharon has been selling sweets since 1949.
