YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown Fire Department Chief John O’Neill told WKBN Monday that the damage estimates for a Thursday fire at Asphalt Solutions in Youngstown are near $1 million.
O’Neill said the fire may have started at a vacant house next door. An insurance company is doing tests Monday to determine exact cause.
Asphalt Solutions co-Owner Bob Roth said he was sitting in his office the day of the fire when an employee said the back of the building near the break room was smoking.
The fire spread and caused massive damage at the plant, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky.
