Police arrest Boardman break-in suspect

Robert Johnson charged in boardman store break in

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police say a Boardman man with a lengthy criminal record is now being held in connection with a break-in last week at a Boardman grocery store.

Police arrested Robert Johnson early Friday evening after a tip to the local Crimestoppers organization helped investigators identify their suspect.

Police say the break-in happened at the Sparkle Market on South Avenue.

Police said the man seen stealing cartons of cigarettes is Johnson, who they claim broke a window to get into the store around 1:30 Friday morning.

He’s now facing charges of breaking-and-entering and vandalism and is due in court Tuesday morning.
