Road condition shuts down Liberty Township street

Naylor Lloyd Road closed in Liberty

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Liberty Township police have shut down a section of Naylor-Lloyd Road because of its rough conditions.

This past weekend, an officer hit a pothole so hard police took the car off duty. The police chief then ordered the road to be closed between between Tibbetts Wick Road and Keefer Road.

A township trustee even sent a letter to Ohio Gov. John Kasich. She is asking him to use some of Ohio’s $1.5 billion rainy day fund to fix local roads.

“And that money is money that he has taken away, the state legislature has taken away from local government. And local government needs that money now. It is a rainy day now. And we need that money back,” Trustee Jodi Stoyak said.

Liberty Township will pay Trumbull County about $16,000 to chip and seal the road in the next two weeks. They must wait for temperatures to reach 60 degrees for that process.
