South Range students see world through virtual tours

1st graders at South Range Elementary took a virtual tour on monday

LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) – New technology is allowing students in the Valley to take a field trip without ever leaving the classroom.

First-graders at South Range Elementary School took a virtual tour of an Indiana farm on Monday. The school is one of the first to use a live broadcast from Discovery Education. And just like a real field trip, they even got to ask questions.

“I think now with technology that we are able to see about anything and with a live feed I feel the kids have an opportunity to grow and learn like they never have before,” 1st-grade teacher Lisa Fullerton said.

Monday’s virtual field trip explained the life cycle of an egg, going from the chicken to the grocery store to their dinner table.
