YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A well-traveled ramp leading from one section of Youngstown’s Madison Avenue Expressway to another, is back open to traffic Monday afternoon.
The ramp was closed March 12 when the ground gave way, creating a mudslide onto the road.
Chuck Shasho, deputy director of Youngstown Public Works, said it took crews awhile to dig away the debris and determine the cause.
“It turns out that there was a broken under-drain. That was the culprit on the problem. We went ahead and fixed that. We put some additional drainage stone underneath it, and we’ll re-pour the slabs tomorrow and get the road re-opened,” Shasho said.
