YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown and United Healthcare hosted a health fair Saturday for new and expectant moms.
It was called the Citywide Baby Shower and Health Fair and held at the Arlington Heights Recreation Center.
During the event, attendees met with health experts to get answers about their pregnancy and receive tips for taking care of their babies.
Organizers said all of the agencies taking part are out in the community year-round.
“They work day in and day out in churches, community centers, in doctors offices to equip moms with information about health and wellness and how they can take care of themselves and their new babies,” Amy Swanson, United HealthCare.
The event is the first in a series of eight baby showers organized by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio that will take place this year.
The next shower is April 18 at the King Kennedy Community Center in Ravenna.
