Howland and Fitch split doubleheader

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Howland and Austintown Fitch split a pair of games at Eastwood Field Tuesday evening.  The Tigers won game one 11-7.

Game one was a continuation of Monday’s game which was called due to darkness.

The Tigers plated four runs in the top of the 11th inning to secure the victory.  Connor Antinone singled to left to drive in the go-ahead run.  A passed ball, followed by a 2-run double by Nick Badanjek capped off the scoring for Howland.

Ray Hill and Badanjek each drove in a pair of runs in the victory.

In game two, the Falcons rallied from an early 4-1 deficit en route to a 12-6 win.  Jared Kapturasky drove in 3 runs for Fitch in the win.  Brian Beany picked up the win on the mound, tossing 5 2/3 innings with 4 strikeouts without allowing an earned run.
