Hughes dazzles in Bubba Classic

Ursuline senior Mark Hughes led all scored 29 points in a 122-87 win for Mahoning County.

Howland, OH (WKBN) – Ursuline senior Mark Hughes led all scorers with 29 points to help Mahoning County rout Trumbull, 122-87 Tuesday at the Frank Bubba Classic.

Mahoning County jumped out to a 49-42 lead at halftime, in a game that featured little defense on both sides. Hughes scored 24 of his 29 points in the second half, including 7 three pointers on the night.

Canfield’s Mike Yourstowsky also had 23 points for Mahoning, while South Range’s Garret Anderson scored 17 and Fitch’s Jake Bullen finished with 16.

Trumbull County was paced by Harding’s Jarelle Johnson with 20 points, while his Raider teammate Shondell Jackson had 14. Girard’s Dylan O’Hara also scored 12.
