GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A man accused of robbing a township store at gunpoint late last year pleaded not guilty Tuesday during his initial court appearance.

Hubbard Township police arrested Kenneth A. Nezbeth, 36, of King Graves Road, Warren, Friday in connection to the Nov. 23 robbery at Michelle’s Mart on state Route 7.

Nezbeth had his bond continued and waived his right to a preliminary trial during the hearing at Girard Municipal Court Tuesday. Authorities are holding Nezbeth on $100,000 bond and have charged him with aggravated robbery.

According to police, the masked robber walked into the store, pointed a handgun at the owner and a baby, who was nearby in a playpen, and ordered her to empty the cash register.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and ran from the store, police said.

No shots were fired, and there were no injuries.
