WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A Youngstown man visiting Rhode Island to see family and friends for Easter won big in the state’s lottery Sunday.
Robert Prodnick Jr. from Youngstown claimed a $50,000 instant ticket after his aunt passed out Easter bags with lottery tickets at his family’s Easter brunch, according to WKBN’s sister station WPRI.
He said he originally thought his ticket was worth $2,000 and had planned to buy lunch for his family. But, then he found out it was $50,000 and said “he thought he was going to have a heart attack.”
Prodnick plans to pay off his car, buy his nephew a very nice first birthday gift and put the rest in the bank.
Snacks Plus in Cranston sold the winning ticket.
