Power restored in Columbiana County

BOARDMAN (WKBN) — Thousands were without power in Columbiana County Sunday.

According to the First Energy, just over 11,000 of the 31,000 customers in the county were impacted by the outage.

Most customers had service restored within three hours.

First Energy said the problem was bad insulators at two substations in Salem and Fairfield Townships. The insulators are supposed to protect the system against power surges.
