2 plead guilty in Youngstown Winona Ave. shooting

Two women have pleaded guilty in connection with the shooting death of Shawn Cortez in Youngstown, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two women pleaded guilty Monday in connection with a fight that led to a shooting in Youngstown in August, according to court sources.

Rouxje Ezell and Carlisha Hammonds, both indicted in August in connection with the shooting death of Shawn Cortez, pleaded guilty to aggravated riot and involuntary manslaughter.

A sentencing date has not been set for the two, who have agreed to testify against others charged in connection with the incident.

One other defendant has already pleaded guilty in the case, while six others still face trial.
