Clarett featured speaker at Men’s Ralley in the Valley

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Former local football star Maurice Clarett will be the guest speak at the May Men’s Rally in the Valley in Youngstown.

Clarett, who was a running back for Warren Harding and played for the Ohio State University’s national championship team, will tell his story during the May 16 Men’s Rally in the Valley at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown.

Clarett was dismissed from OSU, was arrested several times and imprisoned after that, but since has turned his life around.

This is the second time Clarett will speak at the annual event. He was the guest speaker in 2013.

Clarett has been active in several community service programs including youth intervention and community health wellness initiatives.

He was released from probation early in February 2015. The judge called him “one of the truly wonderful success stories.”

Clarett served a prison sentence on robbery and weapons charges. He was released in 2010.
