Trumbull Library brings out ‘geek’ in everyone

Warren Trumbull County Public Library kicks off Geek the Library campaign

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – This week is National Library Week and to celebrate, the main branch of the Warren-Trumbull Public Library system held an open house on Tuesday evening at the Mahoning Avenue N.W. branch.

Library officials also unveiled their new posters for the nationwide “Geek the Library” campaign, which is aimed at raising awareness about public libraries. The posters feature 36 local people, and what they “geek,” such as travel, superheroes or art.

Kim Armstrong is one of the poster faces, along with her daughter and husband.

“I think it is motivating for kids to see grownups who read and who have a strong interest in whatever it might be. To know that it’s not just a kid thing. It is your whole life,” Armstrong said.

The goal of “Geek the Library” is to show that everyone geeks about something and the library has resources available for whatever it is.
