Youngstown hosting unique event to benefit Beatitude House

Over the Edge event will benefit Beatitude House in Youngstown, Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Anyone who has ever wondered what it would be like to rappel off the tallest building in downtown Youngstown can now find out.

The city is hosting “Over the Edge” on Sept. 25 and 26. Participants will rappel from the 17th story of the First National Bank Building.

But here is the catch: They must raise at least $1,000. Proceeds will benefit the Beatitude House.

“There is only so many slots. So that is kind of the thing behind it. There is only so much time in the day or the two days that they are doing this, so if you are considering doing it, get into it now and start raising some money. It is obviously for an incredible cause,” said Michael McGiffin, Youngstown coordinator of downtown events.
