Police say security not an issue at Foo Fighters concert

A crowd gathers at Record Connection in Niles, Ohio.

WEATHERSFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Weathersfield police and fire personnel were at Pine Tree Plaza for the concert, and officials said things stayed safe throughout the event.

The fire department approved a temporary permit for 175 people to be inside for the concert. Many more people drove down to purchase records and to try to get a peek of the band.

Authorities set up temporary barricades, keeping the area directly in front of the venue clear. People still gathered further back to take pictures.

Fire Chief Randall Pugh said the plan went well, and the atmosphere in the shopping plaza stayed calm.

“Very organized, very organized – I have no complaints at all,” said Pugh. “Inside his record store, he has a nice flow in there. He hasn’t overloaded at all.”

The Record Connection store was indeed packed. People filed in all morning and afternoon for exclusive releases, but officials said the atmosphere inside stayed calm.
