The Paint the Night Purple benefit for Alzheimer's was held in Poland, Ohio.

POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter introduced its inaugural Mahoning Valley “Paint the Night Purple” benefit event Saturday at the Lake Club in Poland.

Festivities started at 6 p.m. with a social hour and an elegant dinner.

The color purple, which is the Alzheimer’s Association signature color, was the theme of the event. It also added to a re-branding of the former gala.

Joan Uronis has traveled the world, teaching people about those who live with the disease and those who have yet to be diagnosed.

“Almost everyone knows someone that has the disease. So, it is important to everyone to get involved and to stop this epidemic and to support those of us with the disease.

Proceeds from the event supported the programs and services of the Alzheimer’s Association offered to Mahoning Valley residents.
