Boardman police investigate car break-ins

Boardman Break-ins
Police are investigating a string of car break-ins in Boardman.

BOARDMAN. Ohio (WKBN)– Boardman police are investigating a rash of car break-ins overnight Friday.

Thieves are hitting cars around Indianola Road.

Homeowners reported five car break-ins Saturday morning.
They’re taking GPS systems, mobile phones and spare change.

As weather gets better, police say they expect more of these break-ins to occur.
They say drivers sometimes make it easy for criminals.

“The biggest thing is to make yourself a hard target, not leave valuables in your car, don’t leave them in sight, especially if your car is parked at your residence. There’s no reason to leave anything in your vehicle that’s of value,”said Darrell Wagner.

Police say car break-ins can happen anywhere in the township.
