LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) — It was a good day for spring cleaning on local roads Saturday.
Volunteers were out on the streets in Liberty Saturay. Their task was to clean up litter on the sides of the roads.
It was part of the Great American Cleanup, which organizers say is the largest community improvement program in the country.
Many of the volunteers were students from nearby Liberty High School.
“It’s something that will stick with them as they get older. And maybe when they move away from this community, they can start something like this somewhere where they move to,” said Liberty Township Trustee Jodi Stoyak.
The cleanup continues on Sunday.
If you want to help out, it’s from noon until 5 p.m.
Volunteers can meet at the township administration building on Church Hill Hubbard Road.
