COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – Anglers can hit the state’s lakes this weekend and fish without a license.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources holds the event every year so everyone can experience the fun of fishing without a cost.
ODNR stocked more than 43 million fish last year, including steelhead trout, walleye, crappie, yellow perch, bass, bluegill and catfish.
After this weekend, a license will be required to fish the state’s lakes and ponds. Licenses cost $19 and can be purchased online and at licensing agents.
