CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) — A Youngstown mother has just learned in the past few weeks, her son and her mother, both have Leukemia.
Landen Fitzgerald-Green is just 4-years old.
Last month he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
His grandmother was diagnosed with the same disease in late April.
Friends and family gathered for a fundraiser at the Lucky Rooster in Campbell Sunday.
Fitzgerald-Green’s mother Lisa says her son faces at least three years of intense chemotherapy…which will take place each week in Akron at Akron Children’s hospital.
“We stay strong because if he sees us fall apart then he starts to fall apart so we try to keep a positive attitude. As hard as it is some days, you can’t. But today is one of those days we are going to celebrate his life,” said Lisa Fitzgerald-Green,Fitzgerald-Green’s mom.
Another fundraiser for Fitzgerald-Green is planned for June 22 at Extreme Air Trampoline Park at the Eastwood Mall in Niles.
