Allen approved as Liberty football coach

LIBERTY, Ohio (WKBN) – At a school board meeting Monday night, Chet Allen was officially approved as Liberty’s new head football coach.  This is his first head coaching job.

Allen is a Liberty graduate, and played for the Leopards from 1988-1991.  The veteran assistant has twelve years of experience in the coaching ranks.  Previous stops include: Liberty, Girard, Warren harding, Newton Falls, and Niles McKinley.

“I’m eager for this opportunity to come back to the school that I grew up with, and coach the Leopards.  I have seen the growth of the community and school system, and cannot wait to get things going,” Allen said.

He replaced Kevin Cylar whose contract was not renewed last month.  The Leopards have made three straight trips to postseason play.
