Columbiana softball turned back by Aquinas

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WKBN) – St. Thomas Aquinas’ top four batters combined for nine of the team’s fourteen base hits as the Lady Knights advance to the District Final after their 9-1 win over top seeded Columbiana.

Emily Lair threw seven innings of five-hit ball while fanning six batters for St. Thomas Aquinas. Kacee Soehnlen had the game’s lone triple and went 3 for 3.

Madison Roessler hit a solo homerun for the Lady Clippers. Roessler finished with two of the team’s five hits.

St. Thomas Aquinas will now play Western Reserve tomorrow at 5 pm in the Division IV Berlin Center District Championship.
