Hughes dominant, Reserve rolls into title tilt

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WKBN) – Western Reserve softball shuts out Lisbon, 11-0, in the Berlin Center District Semifinal this evening. Aleah Hughes struck out all but two batters (14 Ks) in five innings of work. Hughes finished 2 for 3 at the plate by driving in three runs and scoring another two to help her cause.

The Devils’ leadoff batter Jenny Stubbs went 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Also with a pair of hits was Tory White, Maddie Krietzburg (3 RBIs) and Alexis Miller (3 RBIs). Reserve batted .429 this evening ( 12 of 28).

Western Reserve has defeated both of their first two playoff opponents by a combined score of 16-0 (East Canton & Lisbon).

Lisbon’s lone hit was by Devyn Flory.

Now, Reserve will take on St. Thomas Aquinas tomorrow at 5 pm for the District Championship.
