Warren sets deadline for camera installation

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The city of Warren has set a deadline for the installation of security cameras in the city.

According to the Tribune Chronicle, city officials want to see the cameras placed by June 1.

The cameras will be focused on high crime areas, specifically the bike trail where there has been criminal activity and illegal dumping in recent months.

The city purchased four cameras through block grant money. A fifth camera is being provided by the installer, VEC Inc. of Girard, at no cost to the city.

There will not be people monitoring the cameras all the time. Police will be able to download images from the cameras as they drive through the area.
