Western Reserve captures 2nd straight District Title

The Blue Devils defeated Jackson Milton, 3-1 Wednesday in a Division IV District Championship game.

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – The Western Reserve baseball team defeated Jackson Milton, 3-1 Wednesday in a Division IV District Championship game at Cene Park.

The Blue Devils got out to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, but Jackson Milton came back to tie it up in the 4th on a Nate Clark RBI single. Later in the bottom of the 6th, sophomore Wyatt Larimer drove in the go-ahead run to give Reserve a 2-1 lead. A sacrifice fly later in the inning would extend their lead to 3-1.

Larimer finished things off from the mound in the 7th, finishing with 8 strikeouts, 4 hits, and 1 earned run in a complete 7 innings. Larimer improves to 6-0 on the season.

Western Reserve improves to 20-5-1 on the season and will play the winner of New Riegel and Attica Seneca East next Thursday at Pipe Yard Stadium in Lorain at 6:30 PM.
