Deadline extended for summer youth work program

Trumbull County summer youth work program

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Trumbull County Job and Family Services is extending its application deadline for the summer youth work program.

The reason is that not enough eligible people are applying. JFS Administrator Bill Turner said they are looking for more kids between the ages of 16 and 24 to sign up because almost every community in Trumbull County is asking for help from the program.

These are entry level jobs at both public and private sites like schools and municipalities.

“It is $8.10 and hour, 30 hours a week. It is all day turn, weekends off, which in itself is attractive,” Turner said.

The program runs for eight weeks.

Anyone who would like to apply can do so from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon on May 30 at the Job and Family Services building on High Street in downtown Warren.
